We closed a new training cycle that prepares a group of employees to assume positions of leadership and greater responsibility.
During March, the graduations of the Young Professionals and Seal of Leadershipprograms took place, meetings that brought together employees from 11 countries in the Americas and belonging to more than 80 Business Unites.
Both training programs have been held at Ultramar for a couple of years and their main objective is to prepare employees to assume positions of greater responsibility. Both have the same line, the difference being that Young Professionals focuses on the new generations, employees who have been with the organization for a short time and are just starting their working life. Seal of Leadership focuses on the current leaders of the organization who will assume positions of greater responsibility in the future.
Both programs have a defined course curriculum with specific topics, aligned to the organizational model and culture; each selected employee has a learning path, which includes synchronous online workshops conducted by the international consulting firm Seminarium and courses on the E-Learning platform (Crehana). Some of the topics covered in the workshops and courses were: Sustainable Leadership, Collaborative Work, Change Management, Innovation and Digital Transformation, Personal Leadership and Self-Knowledge, Customer Experience, among others.
The graduations are the instances to close these programs, whose duration is approximately a year and a half. It is also a time for the groups to get to know each other personally, connect with each other and generate professional ties.
The meetings also include visits to some Business Units in Santiago and Valparaíso, as well as presentations by the Corporate Managers and a review of fundamental issues for the organization, such as Sustainability and Operational Excellence, two central areas for our management.
"It is a tremendous experience for all of us who are leaders in the organization. It is an opportunity to network, to get to know other work dynamics, organizations, companies, countries and their ways of working," said Sofía Magallanes from Montecon, Uruguay, a graduate of Seal of Leadership.
A reality that perceives Joaquín López from Sitrans, Chile who also graduated from Young Professionals"It has been a rewarding experience. It is good to know that they count on us to continue developing people at Ultramar, and that they are projecting us for the medium and long term. It is a privilege to be part of the program".
Daniel Coca from ULOG, Chile and a graduate of Seal of Leadership"It is very important that we take advantage of this type of opportunity that Ultramar gives us to continue learning and then be able to bear fruit in our teams, so that they can also develop throughout their careers,"he said.
These were days of recognition of professional growth that ended with words of reflection from Richard von Appen spoke, Chairman of Ultramar: "With the challenges we face today as a group of companies, it is essential not only to strengthen leadership, but also to incorporate young people so that they can be motivated to take on future positions", he concluded.
